So being an intern at First Second Books, I've been briefed on this next assignment that they're doing this bit on their webpage of Who Reads First Second? So they need pictures of people of different ages, ethnicity, etc (everyone xD) reading a First Second book to put up on their site. And it is my job to seek people out.

I've been told that if you have your own first second book, you can use that. And we might send you a free book that's not the one you have. (I've only been told this two minutes ago so we'll be going over details again soon xD) Or if you want to take part and don't have a book, we'll mail you a free book too. So yeah, COMPLETELY FREE to take part in with just your permission that we can use your photo. And the point is to be fun and creative with it. ^^

Yeeah so to cut down on holiday costs on gifts and still give quality to my friends, I'm doin free commissions for them >w> Finally got started but hopefully will finish in time x_X; no thanks to Thesis that takes up majority of my art time. 1) Redo "beans alphabet cartoon" for my mom.... long story short, it's something I did when I was like... 8 years old and my mom loved it so much she made a deal with me that she will let me go to SVA if I redid it for her. ... I still have yet to do it, honestly, I don't think I really care about redoing it but a deal's a deal. I gotta at least aim to do it before I graduate. And I hope to like, give it to her as a gift for her birthday or for next mother's day or something. least i can do anyway.

1) Title: PARALLEL

Summary: Kael lives in a world parallel to reality where characters pre-exist before they are created. In this alternate universe, characters go to school to bring out their fullest potential before they are sent to the real world to fulfill their roles in books, video games, comics, etc. But in a world where rules are set, Kael tries to find out what it really means to have one's own identity. Will his encounter with the infamous "Ronin" reveal to him the truth of the world he lives in?
Comments: This comics was done for a cartooning class back in 2005. It's already a couple of years old so obviously the art is not as good as I can do today. But nevertheless, I still love the story ^^ kinda taken from personal ideals. (and whoosh! magically it's a story! )


2)Title: Returning Home

Summary: Louis Soner is a space captain from Talmira, a space colony of Earth. Upon having his request denied to visit Earth, Captain Soner suspects there's something being hidden and takes it upon himself to find out what it is. However, he soon learns that there are some things better left unknown.
Comments: This was done last year (2007) for a mini course I was taking, Science Fiction. The final was to write a science fiction short story. But being the nerd I am, I ask to do a comic of it instead xD; Took me about a month. Done with pencil and charcoal. I apologize if the technical details for why things happened the way they did are a bit hazy, the point was to take at least one of the ideas we learned about during the course, so I chose to do a story with the theme of Time dilation. For those who don't really understand: basically dealing with speed, time, and distance. For example, the faster speed Person A travels away from planet X, the time on planet X goes much faster than the time for Person A. ... I better not say anymore lest I spoil the story xD

As for the ending? .... truth be told, it's my idea of a joke although I wonder if people will get my humor. xD

Comments: Oh GOD! Why did I torture myself to not only draw realistically, but also to draw three things I hate: buildings, cars, and perspective. xD;.... At least that's done. Next semester I want to try something a bit more wonky. But yeah, it's not really the happiest story admittingly, but before all you ppl think all I do are sad stories, I have a comedy coming up >o>;... when I scan it ;;... heh heh. Comments: This was a six page original story done for storytelling class. I was doing serious stuff for cartooning class so I wanted to go fun for storytelling. Also was practicing telling a story in the narrative arc with three escalating events. man, but doing it in 6 pages, had to cram up each page to the max you could put on a page xD Well, go read and get a few laughs

Comments: My second semester's Principle of Cartooning comic. This was basically my experimental comic playing with page layouts and combining and intertwining manga and comic strip forms together. I had a great deal of fun drawing this and I just love the characters. Though I suppose I made a name for myself among my classmates for that peanut butter joke...

Comments: This was our final open assignment for our Storytelling class. I wanted to try doing a story with faerie lore, which is a subject I love. It was a four page assignment so it was quite difficult getting a full length story into so short amount of pages. .... Yeah. I know. I have a problem with cramming pages with as much information as I can. I just hope it doesn't take away from the story ...
